Jeep Wrangler Configurations

Jeep offers four different engines and two transmissions for the Wrangler. Every model is standardly equipped with a 3.6L Pentastar® V6 mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. This configuration can generate 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. For idle moments on the road, the engine features auto stop/start technology to better the 2020 Wrangler's efficiency.

The second engine is actually the same Pentastar® V6 integrated with Jeep's eTorque Mild Hybrid System. Although horsepower remains the same, low-end torque gets a boost to make rock scrambles easier. City fuel economy increases to an EPA-estimated 19 MPG, compared to 17 MPG in the normal Pentastar®.

The third and fourth available options, too, share basic specifications. Whether you're interested in the eTorque variant or not, the 2.0L Turbo engine can produce 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. All eTorque fitted 2.0L models will receive more low-end torque, similar to the Pentastar® V6. This engine also has a higher city gas mileage of an EPA-estimated 21 MPG.

Interior Amenities

It's apparent how the 2020 Jeep Wrangler's interior design complements its assertive exterior when you take a seat. As with previous model years, the Wrangler can seat up to five passengers and you'll have cloth-trimmed bucket front seats. The standard Uconnect® 5-inch touchscreen display allows you to control media via Bluetooth®, MP3, or USB.

There's a lot of variability when it comes to available features. Depending on the trim level, the Wrangler has optional leather-trimmed seats and shift knob. You can also opt for a larger 7-inch or 8.4-inch Uconnect® display, Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, and an upgraded Alpine® Premium Audio System.

Jeep Wrangler Off-Road-Ready Features

With three available 4x4 traction control systems, the 2020 Wrangler can handle various terrain with confidence. Jeep's Command-Trac® is standard on all trims other than the Rubicon. Although each system is suited for any adventure, they do offer slightly different rides.

The Command-Trac® is inherently good for rock crawling and flat towing while the Rock-Trac® has Tru-Lok® electronic locking front and rear differentials for harsher off-road trails. Selec-Trac® will automatically switch between 2-wheel and 4-wheel drive to provide consistent traction on dry and wet pavement, mud, and snow.

Anytime you're headed off-road, it's necessary to have protection for the underside of your Jeep. That's why the Wrangler has durable steel skid plates covering the fuel tank and transfer case. A high ground clearance and air intake will let you take on larger obstacles and deeper streams when you're in the thick of it.
